Activities
The Nymboida River is the start of Australia's longest white water trail and is the closest rafting river to Brisbane.
Our property is located upstream of a weir which means you can enjoy around 5 kilometres of crystal clear, deep, calm water.
Further upstream you will find some fairly shallow but fun rapids to navigate. For the more adventurous, there are numerous river guides in the area who will happily supply a raft, tube, canoe or kayak and safely guide you through some of the more extreme rapids. Ask your host for further details.
Watch out for the local bird and wild life including a good number of Platypus who play in this part of the river.
In season you will be able to enjoy picking Mulberries from the trees which overhang the river, without having to leave your kayak!
This is an area of rugged and natural beauty set amongst many national parks, richly steeped in history. There are many roads to explore by 4WD or adventure and dirt bikes. Rock climbing, abseiling and hiking can also be organised for you. Visit The Junction (4WD only) or Dalmorton; the deserted gold mining town built in the 1800s, and the Dalmorton Tunnel which was hand carved 20 metres through solid rock!
The local markets are held in the village every second Sunday. Locally grown produce, preserves, bakery items, sushi, etc. You are bound to find something interesting and will love speaking with the locals. You might even be lucky enough to enjoy one of the many local musicians playing on the day.
