Base yourself at the Nymboida River Retreat and enjoy all the roads this area has to offer.
Located in the foothills of the Dorrigo Range, this area is remote and unspoilt with dramatic landscapes and tranquil surroundings. You will encounter very little traffic along the sealed roads, and next to none along the numerous dirt roads. There are many sealed and unsealed routes to explore! Your host is a passionate motorcycle rider who recently traded in her Kawasaki ZX10R on a 2021 Honda CB 500X, to better enjoy what the area has on offer. There are many fun and incredibly scenic routes in the local area and your host would love to guide you, or point you in the right direction.. Travelling on a motorcycle means limited luggage space. With this in mind, arrange to send your host a shopping list and they will happily purchase groceries and drinks on your behalf and have these ready for your stay, or provide a home cooked dinner when available. We can also be your support person. We have a 4WD dual cab ute to carry all your gear, and your tired pillion. Another option is to send us ahead to set up your camp site. Five Day Lovedale Long Lunch Tour
via Thunderbolts Way and the Oxley Highway
Join us on a five-day tour starting at the new Nymboida River Retreat B&B where we will enjoy a home cooked meal and comfy beds after getting to know some of the property’s friendly animals and possibly a quick swim or kayak in the river.
We will make our way via the Thunderbolt Way twisties to the beautiful Hunter Valley region where we will join in on the iconic Lovedale Long Lunch. The Long Lunch is a progressive style lunch where food and wine lovers are invited to discover the wonders of Lovedale. Each May, a decadent line up of the Hunter Valley’s leading chefs team up with seven of Lovedale’s finest wineries and local entertainment for a weekend of foodie fun.
We will make our way back to Nymboida via the famous Oxley Highway; one of the best motorcycling roads in the country!
You are welcome to book extra nights at the Nymboida River Retreat where you will be able to explore the river using the property’s own kayaks or hire a river guide to take you down the world-renowned Nymboida rapids. You may also like to ride the famous Dorrigo loop which will take you to Coffs Harbour via Orara Way, then cut back inland up Waterfall Way to Dorrigo and back down to Nymboida to enjoy another homemade dinner. Or just relax in the hammock or wander the property watching the birds and wildlife.

Travel to Armidale, Uralla, down Thunderbolts Way to Walcha for lunch.
Continue down Thunderbolts Way to Gloucester.
Take The Bucketts Way to Twelve Mile Creek.
Join the Highway and head to the Hunter Valley

Tour of three wineries.
